How to Heal All Aspects of Yourself: A 4-Part Answer

by Beth Mielbrecht | Sep 26, 2026

A client asked me a question I think about often. How do you heal all aspects of yourself?

There are as many answers as there are schools of thought. Here is mine, in four parts.

1. Every Symptom Comes From Deficiency, Toxicity, or Both

First, all symptoms come from deficiency or toxicity, and it's usually both that need to be addressed. Deficiency might be missing nutrients, but it can also be missing water, sleep, sun, laughter, or creative expression.

Toxicity comes from what you eat, what touches your skin, the environment, and what emotions you carry: work stress, family stress, anger, resentment. To heal, correct deficiencies and help your body remove toxicities.

2. The Three Foundations of Healing

Second, I have three foundations that are essential.

Keep the garbage out: what you watch, what you listen to, what you put in and on your body.

Take in real food and real beauty: fresh food, a sunset, music that moves you.

Help your body eliminate every day, through movement, sweat, and other gentle practices.

For healing to occur, you need these three foundations.

3. Pain Is Pain, Physical or Emotional

The third part of my answer is this: pain is pain, physical or emotional. Your healing process needs to support both.

4. Your Body Is Always Working to Heal You

Fourth, and this is the one I want you to sit with and really contemplate: your body is always working to heal you. Always trying. It doesn't attack you. What looks scary is usually your body packaging and containing something it doesn't have the resources to release yet, so that it can protect you in the meantime.

With patience, and a willingness to work with your body instead of against it, healing is possible.

Why Treating Symptoms One at a Time Falls Short

Are you someone who's been treating your symptoms as separate problems, chasing one fix at a time? Most women I talk to have tried exactly that, addressing the headache, then the fatigue, then the gut issue, each on its own. But your body doesn't work in isolated parts.

When you address deficiency and toxicity together, physical and emotional together, healing moves faster and holds longer.

Which one of these four parts feels like something to explore? Reply and tell me. I'd love to hear.
